Dr. Mohammad Noori this morning in an interview with a Web Da correspondent stated: ‘In line with the development of the educational infrastructure of Abadan School of Medical Sciences, we obtained the establishment permit for Paramedics Department from the Promotion Council of Universities of Medical Sciences.
He added considering Abadan School of Medical Sciences managed to obtain the permit for enrolling students in the fields of laboratory science, health technology, library science, anesthesia, and operating room, we decided to request for a department of paramedics and obtained it in order to progress better on the road of becoming a university.
Education, Research, and Technology Deputy of Abadan School of Medical Sciences says the number of departments at this school rose to 4 thanks to this permit; this achievement lays the foundations for this school to become a university.
He mentioned a number of advantages of having a new department and said this department enables us to employ more academic staff, upgrade the undergraduate studies to graduate ones, and strengthen the research infrastructure.
Dr. Noor, underscoring that departments are building blocks of universities, stated that Abadan School of Medical Sciences enrolls 20 students in the field of Work Safety and Professional Health Engineering for the fall semester of academic year 2018-2019; as a result, Health Studies Department is also added to the departments of this school.
This school currently has departments of nursing, basic sciences, clinical sciences, medicine, and paramedics, among which the departments of basic sciences and clinical sciences were added last year, he said.
